New direct route Gothenburg - Oslo with quick connections in the Norwegian network

On December 12th, CargoNet will launch a new direct route from Gothenburg Skandiahamnen to Alnabru in Oslo. The train will run 3 times a week in each direction. The shuttle train is particularly well adapted for quick and environmentally friendly

transport of sea containers from Gothenburg into the Norwegian rail network.

On December 12th, CargoNet will launch a new direct route from Gothenburg Skandiahamnen to Alnabru in Oslo. The train will run 3 times a week in each direction. The shuttle train is particularly well adapted for quick and environmentally friendly transport of sea containers from Gothenburg into the Norwegian rail network.Trains will depart from Alnabru, Oslo on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings, arriving in Skandiahamnen in the afternoon. Trains will depart from Gothenburg Skandiahamnen in the evenings of the same days, arriving in Alnabru, Oslo the following morning. This means that containers from Gothenburg will reach all cities in southern Norway by rail the same evening.

Transport can be booked via our customer portal. Here, the customer has a full overview of the movement of their containers. Through our portal you can order containers to be picked up in Gothenburg harbour and door to door delivery anywhere in Norway. We can also handle return transportation if needed.

Gothenburg is becoming increasingly important as a port for Norwegian imports and exports, with several direct arrival routes from overseas. Currently, containers are often unloaded at the continental dock and shipped to Norway using feeder ships– a process that is both expensive and time-consuming.
